I really can’t tell if I’m an introvert or an extrovert. Nor can I tell whether I’m an INFP or an ENFP. I really want to know.

I like being around people all of the time and being social. But I hate small talk and love deep conversation. I am one to have a couple of close friends and a lot of acquaintances. I don’t like conflict, but I stand up to people when needed. I’ve always been quiet and a great listener, but have definitely come out of my shell a bit more in college.

All of that stands true for me too and I’m an ENFP. I think the main difference come when you’re in trouble or need to understand something; so, what do you do, do you go to a friend or do you think privately about things? Extroverts get energy from their social encounters and Introverts from their time alone.

Maybe you should take an Enneagram test. Some types (like 4) are kind of “introverted” by nature, meaning they only long for deep encounters rather than being out there socializing just for the sake of it. I’m a type 4w3 and that’s how I explain how quiet I can get sometimes :D.
